View of woodland with frost on the ground

Welcome to our woodland in the heart of Dorset

Our undisturbed ten acre wood, in the rural countryside of middle Dorset, is classified as ‘ancient woodland’ and, as such, has been used for no other purpose then silviculture since at least 1600.

In association with the Dorset Flora Group and The Dorset woodland Trust we have carried out (and are continually updating) an ecological audit to baseline what we have with a mission to increase the biodiversity of the woodland by 10% every five years.

It boasts a huge variety of mammals (four species of deer, Badger, Hazel Dormice, Fox, Hare etc), birds (Treecreepers, Siskins, Blackcaps, Tawny Owls etc) and over a 100 species of plants (of which several species are notable) and 20 species of trees.
